Abia 2023: Chima Anyaso will be the next governor – Wabara

The former Senate president, Senator Adolph Wabara has reiterated his resolve for power to be returned to Abia North where it all started in 1999, saying that it is the right thing to do, even as he embraces Dr. Chima Anyaso as the next governor of the State.

Wabara said this at his country home, Ohambele in the Ukwa East council area while receiving Anyaso and his entourage who came to commiserate with him over the demise of his dear wife, saying allowing power to move outside Abia North will be causing problems for the state.

The Secretary to the PDP Board of Trustees noted that Anyaso is a proud son of the state and that the state is proud to have him as a Governorship hopeful of the state while describing him as a promising man.

He noted that the Abia PDP governorship aspirant who he described as a very close friend of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has all it takes, “Not only to get PDP Governorship ticket but also to win the election, therefore he needs all our encouragement and support to succeed”.

According to Senator Wabara, “I first met Anyaso when Governor Ikpeazu took me to his house in Igbere some years back and if Governor Ikpeazu chose to take me and others to Anyaso’s house for entertainment after an event in Bende LGA, it means he (the Governor) can trust him with power, especially as he is from Abia North”.

Senator Wabara, who enjoined Chima Anyaso to ensure he fixes the terrible road network challenging the oil-producing area when he emerges as Governor, added that the people would be happy if their pride of place is given to them.

The former Senate president noted that his people have suffered enough from past administrations and urged Anyaso not to forget them when he assumes office as the next governor of Abia state.
